How To Use The Aspen Horizon Back Brace

The Aspen Horizon is one of the leading back supports on the market, its lightweight easy to use design allows for the patient to easily regulate the support needed. In this article will discuss how to properly use your Aspen Horizon Back support.

Aspen Horizon Models

The Aspen Horizon back support comes in 3 different models the Horizon 456 TLSO,  Horizon 637 LSO,  and the 631 LSO, all Horizon back supports can be stepped down to the Horizon Lumbar 627. All models are available at CSA Medical Supply.

Adjusting The Size

The Aspen Horizon is a one size fits all and will fit waist sizes from 24-70″. To properly adjust your back support follow these steps below.

Step 1

Refer to the sizing chart inside the packaging. If your waist is larger then 52″ then extension panels will be required.

Step 2

Lay your Aspen Horizon on a flat surface and peel back the hook material from the folding end of the belt, then slide the belt to the proper number on the sizing chart.

Step 3

If extension panels are required. Remove the pull tabs form the belt, then remove the belt pieces from the brace. Next attach the extension panel at the end of the belt securing both the front and back. Do the same on each side. Once panels are secured you are ready to use the brace.

Wearing The Aspen Horizon Back Support Properly

Step 1

Move the pull tabs close to the back panel so the brace can be fully extended.

Step 2

Center the panel to the middle of the back. Make sure both the top and bottom are snug before using the pull tabs.

Step 3

Grasp the pull tabs with both hands and pull outwards. Next attach the pull tabs to the brace. If you require more tension for the lower back pull on the left tab for more tension, for more tension on the upper back pull on the right tab. To adjust the tension while sitting remove the tabs from the brace and move inward allowing you to sit more comfortably.

Cleaning Your Aspen Horizon Back Support

All Aspen Horizon back supports can be cleaned by hand using soap and water. Never machine wash your back support.
