Prior To Electrode Placement

  1. Clean the section of the skin where the electrode pads will be place. Use soap and water to clean the skin pre-application and post-application. Be sure no excess soap is left behind and that skin is thoroughly dried.
  2. Excessive hair may be trimmed with scissors, shaving of application region is not recommended.

Application Of Electrodes

  1. Clean and dry section of skin where electrode pads will be placed.
  2. Insert lead wire into the pin connector in the pre-wired electrodes.
  3. Remove electrodes from protective plastic liner and place electrodes on desired location of treatment.
  4. Many skin irritations occur from the pulling stress that occurs from adhesive patches that are excessively stretched across the skin during application. To prevent this, apply electrodes from center outward, avoid stretching over the skin.

Removal Of Electrodes

  1. Lift at the edge of Electrode pad and pull, do not pull on the lead wire to remove the electrode this may damage the electrode.
  2. When removing electrodes, always remove by pulling in the direction of hair growth. This lowers your risk of skin irritation.
  3. After removal place electrodes back on protective liner, and remove lead wires from electrodes.

Care and Storage of Electrodes

  1. After use place electrodes back on the plastic protective linear and store in the resealable bag that all CSA Medical Supply electrodes come with.
  2. Store electrodes in a cool place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Warning Do Not Use Electrodes If

  1. Your skin is damaged or irritated.
  2. If irritation occurs stop using electrodes
  3. If your electrodes are no longer adhering to skin.
  4. Do not share electrodes, electrodes are intended for single patient use.
